Valuable Homeless Resources & Job Training

In an effort to improve the lives of the area’s homeless, The Barrow Foundation in Stockton, California, works to provide valuable homeless resources, including job training and medical support. We work with a range of other organizations to provide the resources these people need to improve their lots in life, whether they’re homeless, poor, or working to get back on their feet. We connect our clients with a consultant to help get medical insurance, and work with Work Net to help people 55 and up find jobs or job training programs.

By networking with other organizations, we are able to provide a range of homeless resources, allowing locals to become independent and to find employment. For younger people, we work with individuals and business to provide job training and help them get work. By providing exposure to a range of options, we’re hoping to provide the younger clients with a lasting career they’ll enjoy.

Donations

As you can imagine, it costs a lot to provide all the services that we do. We are currently accepting financial donations, as well as donations and food and clothing for all age ranges. We help people of all ages, including young adults leaving foster care for the first time. Many foster children are left to fend for themselves without guidance. We help to provide the resources they need to succeed on their own, and your donations help provide all of that. All of your donations are tax-deductible, and you’ll receive a “thank you” note for your donation.

Volunteers

We’re always looking for volunteers that are willing to help. We get to know our volunteers and ensure everyone shares some values, and some of our volunteers come from the alternative work program. Our goal is to impart love and share our resources with those who need it. There are no special requirements, just an initial two-hour meeting so we can get to know each other, and what you are willing to do. If we need your services, we’ll assign a job that fits your schedule and skill, including housekeeping, inventory, or any of a range of other jobs.
